Make Sushi at Home - Easy & Quick!

Lately we have been enjoying a new take on sushi, all at home.

No need to drive 35 minutes to a restaurant and then wait for the food, hoping the toddlers will eat it (hint: last time they didn’t).

Instead, we make temaki at home, and guess what?! The littles actually eat it too! Or at least some variation that they make themselves, and because they are involved and see what is in it, it becomes fun and exciting.

Besides, who doesn’t like anything in a wrap of some sort?

Super simple at home sushi - temaki

For pork:

1 pkg Selah Farmstead ground pork

green onion (or sub yellow onion)

fresh ginger

miso (or sub soy sauce)

sesame oil

broth

For rolls:

grated carrot, thinly sliced cabbage, cucumber, peppers, other veg as you like

cream cheese

rice

nori seaweed sheets

Heat up a couple tablespoons of sesame oil.

Brown ground pork and add salt and pepper to taste

add 1/2 cup of broth

add onion and ginger

add miso paste to taste (reduce salt if using soy sauce)

simmer stirring occasionally.

Serve all components on the table and let everyone make their own sushi style burrito

Enjoy!
