“We were delighted to share with you not only the Gospel of God but our lives as well.”
1 Thessalonians 2:8
Our focus is community, we seek to build an environment that promotes peace and calm and rest for any who come through our gate. Whether it be for 5 minutes or 5 months. We cannot do this project alone and rely on the community around us as we mentor and disciple the young people that stay with us.
We are Leo and Lisa Duarte.
We work in partnership with Streetcorners Ministries, an outreach local to the Bulkley Valley.
We moved to the valley permanently in 2019 after tree planting in the area for several years.
In 2018 we got married with the goal and vision of starting a farm for the purpose of discipling young Christians.
Having both previously worked on organic farms we saw and experienced the many ways that God’s word and truth is explained through farming metaphors.
We want to spread this message of hope and love and teach a new generation a way to farm that heals the land and renews our earth, being stewards of God’s creation.
We have an open home policy, so anyone who comes to the farm is living and learning in a family environment.
We believe that this in itself is healing and opens the door for many conversations about faith and living it out in business and farming.
There are also many opportunities to learn life and business skills as we work the farm and sell the product to the local community building relationships there and providing top quality food to help support the health and well being of our community. What you eat matters!

“My experience at Leos and Lisas place couldn´t have been an any better experience for me. My time there was packed with unique and new experiences and precious encounters. Leo and Lisa are very mindful and considering people. Both are very eager to create an opportunity of mutual benefit and the chance to learn new stuff when your are open for it. There is tons to learn from each other and tons to talk about. I personally respect and admire Leos and Lisas vision for their farm and their dedication towards it. I considered it as an inspiration. They consider you as a family member and a new member in their community right away which is a proof for their big heart and their affectioness towards people and the wwoofing project. For me espacially it was a blessing to play a tiny role in both of their faithful vision for their place. I enjoyed the fellowship and practicing the christian faith with both of them. I will always keep the time and those genuine people in my heart and i hope we stay friends. God bless Leo, Lisa, Anaya and soon their 4rth family member their farm and their friends. I didn´t like the pigs too much though :P”

“I spent 3 months on Leo and Lisa's farm and it was amazing experience. It was my first time wwoofing and I can say that I can absolutely recommend their place. If you don't mind hard physical work and you want to learn something their farm is the spot for you. Leo is an amazing teacher and Lisa's cooking is really good. I really appreciated the way we got introduced into the community... it's not a pure work relationship, but you can make really good friends and have a lot of fun playing board games or whatever with a lot of different people in the community. I truly loved the time I spend there and everything I learned about woodwork, animals, the farm-lifestyle and even myself. I am really thankful for everything I experienced on my time there and I can highly recommend spending some time on their farm. Thank you Leo and Lisa! May god bless you.”
