šŸ– What’s the Difference Between Store-Bought and Pasture-Raised Pork?

A pig is a pig, right? And pork is pork… isn’t it?

I get it. You want to feed your family good, wholesome food. Maybe you think the pork at the grocery store is just as good as anything else.

I wish that were true. But the way food is raised really matters—more than most people realize.

There’s a big difference between conventional, factory-farmed pork and pork that’s raised the way we do it—on pasture, in the fresh air, with sunshine and space to roam.

Let’s break it down:

How the pigs live:

Our pigs live outside, all year round. They nap under trees, dig for roots and bugs, and have cozy huts to keep warm in the winter.

Factory-farmed pigs? They live in crowded barns and never go outside. Sometimes they don’t even have enough space to turn around. That’s not a life—it’s survival.

Environmental impact:

Pasture-raised pigs are good for the land. Ours help clean up brush, turn soil for new gardens, and fertilize as they go. You wouldn’t even know we had pigs unless you saw them—they don’t stink, and they’re super clean animals!

But big factory farms? They produce so much waste in one place, it can pollute the land and water nearby. And let’s be honest—no one wants to live next door to one of those.

Nutritional benefits:

Pasture-raised pork has:

  • More Vitamin D (from all that sunshine!)

  • More Vitamin E

  • Healthier fat and better omega-3s

Factory-raised pork? Not so much. It's often lower in nutrients because those pigs don’t get fresh air, varied diets, or exercise and are constantly fighting disease from crowded living conditions.

Amazing taste:

Pasture-raised pork is tender, juicy, and full of rich flavor. Bacon? Incredible. Sausages? Out of this world. Pork chops? No dryness here—just salt and pepper and WOW.

Factory pork often needs tons of seasoning just to have some flavor. Ours? The taste speaks for itself.
